This attractive amethyst from Khorixas, Namibia exhibits a stunning display of phantoms. The delicate lilac purple colour saturation within the point blends with wispy inclusions. There is a small patch of unidentified mineral on one side. A lovely amethyst to add to a collection and ideal for for meditation and other healing therapies.

Khorixas amethyst might not have the optical clarity of its neighbouring famous Brandberg Quartz, but it’s soft muted lilac purple shadings are just beautiful. Combined with the delicate swirling smokey inclusions, the abundant and striking phantoms, rainbows, and the rare bubble/fluid inclusions, these little amethysts have a rare charm of their own. 
Khorixas is in North West Namibia, and sits north of the Brandberg region. Before 1989 Khorixas was called Welwitschia, after the plant, which can live for centuries. 
Not far from Khorixas is the petrified forest with 300 million year old tree trunks, andTwyfeltein, home of the famous rock engravings.
