This large chunk of beautiful raw and natural Iolite comes from Madagascar. It is an inky midnight violet blue with some subtle tinges of golden hues, and has a lovely lustre on the surface. Iolite carries the violet blue energies and is a stone for “inner vision, shamanic journeying, healing of old wounds, and soul retrieval” ( Robert Simmons / Naisha Aishan). Also known as cordierite (and water sapphire), Iolite is a magnesium aluminum silicate mineral with a hardness of 7-7.5, and has an orthorhombic structure. If I had to describe the energies of Iolite in one word, it would be ‘Tranquility’. A lovely addition to a crystal collection and ideal for meditation, journeying, and other therapeutic healing
