Petrified Wood (Fossilized)
This ancient slab of fossilized wood is from Madagascar. Dating back to the Triassic period over 200 million years ago, the wood from the coniferous podocarpus tree has gradually gone through permineralisation as the organic material has been replaced by silica and other minerals such as iron and manganese. Some tree rings and bark still remain.
The rich earthy red/brown/orange hues mingle amongst the stunning intricate patterns created by Mother Earth.
This is a beautiful specimen piece and would make a valuable addition to a collection.
On a spiritual level this petrified wood is ideal for therapeutic healing with its unique properties, characteristics, and ancient roots.
