Rare Crystalline Smithsonite Aragonite
This exquisite crystalline Smithsonite Aragonite is from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Smithsonite Aragonite is rarely found in this formation, and typically grows in a botryoidal habit. This specimen displays striking acicular (needle like) growth on the top side, and is beautifully contoured. A variable coloured trigonal crystal, this is a secondary mineral created in the weathering or oxidation zone of zinc bearing ore deposits.
This stunning collector’s specimen piece with its mystical appearance is a fabulous eye catching piece of art from Mother Earth.
