This raw rich blue Smithsonite from Democratic Republic of Congo has a beautiful undulating botryoidal habit with a druzy surface. It is a zinc carbonate mineral with a hardness of 4.5, and a trigonal lattice system.
Also known as zinc spar, Smithsonite is a secondary mineral occurring in weathering or oxidisation zones of zinc bearing ore deposits. Often associated with cerrussite, malachite, azurite and other zinc bearing minerals.
Ideal for therapeutic healing practices and a very nice addition to a collection
