This beautiful sunset orange calcite is a new find from Spitzkoppe, Namibia. Named sunset calcite due to its rich orange glow, it is semi opaque with a nice depth of colour. This is a nice chunky piece with ridges on 2 sides. 
Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral and has a trigonal lattice system with a hardness of 3. With a perfect rhombohedral cleavage it has a tendency to break off into well formed cubes with parallel sides. 
As a soft stone, calcite absorbs energy and is ideal for clearing blockages in the human energy field. This sunset calcite is like a ray of sunshine and will help to stimulate the energy system, boost creativity, lighten a low mood, and raise confidence and self esteem.
