Tangerine Quartz Twin
This spectacular rugged tangerine quartz twin is from Zambia. The colouration is due to the presence of hematite and goethite, which are an iron oxide/oxyhydroxide. Goethite can be black, brown, yellow, yellowish brown and reddish brown. There are several spots of goethite present on the surface. At the base can be seen some rich red hematite.
There are several craters/keys, and some raised record keeper triangles on one side. There are many etchings to be seen. The lower part of this quartz twin is covered on one side in masses of small tangerine quartz points radiating out. Internally, the quartz is translucent in the top part, with some rainbow presence. The lower part is quite dense and cloudy, making the quartz opaque. There are several inclusions within and some mirror fractures. The larger point has some melt on one face of the termination.
A very characterful specimen that would make a valuable addition to a collection. Ideal for meditation, channelling and other therapeutic healing.
