Veracruz Amethyst Duo
A stunning pair of Veracruz Amethyst that compliment each other with their features. The single point has a well balanced Dow termination, 7,3,7,3,7,3. It has beautiful lustre and excellent water clear clarity within. The purple hues are most intense at the tip, but fill the point. The base end has cloud. There are some tiny red hematite dots present and at least one rainbow flash. Externally on one side is a crater/key with interesting geometry.
The twin has light subtle violet hues. The large twin is double terminated. The smaller twin features a five sided Isis face. There are some inclusions within and cloud at the base end. There are some pretty rainbow flashes present.
The pair are both just over 3cm in length.
Veracruz Amethyst is from a mountainous area near Las Vigas, in Veracruz state, Mexico. It is considered to be one of the finest amethyst in the world. It is mined as a family business, using hand tools, and wheelbarrows. The side of the mountain has several openings going into short horizontal tunnels.
